The Ice Bear Japanese Combination Waterstone is a double-sided sharpening stone for use with both knives and axes. It is a great choice for those who are new to using waterstones, or anyone looking to carry a set of stones in a more compact and lightweight package.

The coarse side of this combination stone has a grit rating of 1,000; it is this side which should be used for initial sharpening, or for the removal of nicks and other damage to your blade. The opposite side has a much finer grit rating of 6,000, making it perfect for finishing your blade with an ultra-sharp mirror polish.

This premium combination stone is suitable for use with knives, axes, plane blades, chisels, gouges and other thin blades and cutleries used in woodworking, agriculture, gardening, stock raising and forestry.

How to use: Fill the stone with water by submerging it before use. When sharpening, keep the stone wet, and flush often to clear away swarf and expose fresh cutting particles.
